A car that surely needs no introduction to anyone searching for a Aussie muscle car: The Holden Monaro coupe.
This outstanding tribute started life as a factory LS Coupe and has had a fresh full restoration. Panel, new paint and just about every part you can buy from the new has been fitted to this vehicle.
The car boasts a full GTS interior with the correct basket weave interior, door trims, GT dash, console, glove box lid and rim blow steering wheel. All of this has been done to a very high level and make the interior of this car a wonderful representation of the original.
A full GTS front end with fluted front guards has been fitted before the body underwent a rotisserie restoration. the body was stripped to bare metal and prepped for the Lone orange paint to be applied. New exterior parts include all light lenses, bumpers, door handles, locks and refurbished stainless mouldings.
Inside a new rubber kit, carpets upholstery and hood lining were done before the window regulators were refurbished and all new glass was fitted.
The highly detailed engine bay reveals a strong 308ci V8 engine backed by a freshly rebuilt turbo 350 transmission. A new camshaft, lifters, timing chain, alternator, power steering, fuel, oil and water pumps and a rebuilt carburettor ensures the engine runs better than new.
The cooling system has been entirely replaced with new parts including an external transmission cooler and new heater. As expected all the rubber hoses are new.
Details are everything and this engine bay does not disappoint, with extensive re galvanizing of bolts, linkages and hinges.
A new driveshaft sends power to the Salisbury rear end with new seals and wheel bearings. Stopping power is handled by a fully refreshed braking system with a new master cylinder, rebuilt booster and cylinders.
Suspension has been fully refreshed with new springs, shocks and bushes fitted to the freshly undersealed under carriage, A refurbished fuel tank, towbar and mudflaps complete the exquisitely detailed undercarriage.
This beauty looks the part and has already won awards on its maiden outing to the Holden nationals in Christchurch.
